Amir Belson, M.D.

Dr. Amir Belson graduated cum laude from the school of medicine of the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, in Haifa, Israel. He did his pediatric residency at Dana Children’s Hospital in Tel Aviv and his pediatric nephrology fellowship at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford University. Dr. Belson also spent one year as a research fellow with the Biomedical Technology Innovation Program at Stanford.

 

Dr. Belson is the founder of Neoguide Systems, acquired by Intuitive Surgical in 2009, Vascular Pathways, a vascular intervention technology which was acquired by C R Bard; Zipline Medical, a wound closure technology company; VasoStitch, which develops large vessel access and closure technology; Modular Surgical which develops new minimally invasive surgery technology; Oxyvive, a chronic/diabetic wound care technology company, and SuperRenal which develops a technology to prevent contrast nephropathy and to extend the time until the start of renal replacement therapy in CRF patients. Dr. Belson also serves as board director of Alter-G, Relometrics and QT Vascular. He is the author of 34 medical papers and abstracts and has more than 300 issued and pending patents.

Mr. Pruijssers has spent over 25 years working with large multinational medical device companies such as Roche with sales total over 1 billion US$ and managing NGOs in Africa with yearly budgets over €10 million. His areas of expertise include executive project management, partnership building, marketing and sales, market access, distribution and logistics, and finance. Mr. Pruijssers currently runs his own consulting firm that specializes in helping medical device companies in the commercialization process and connecting them with capital, next to his own distribution companies in diagnostics and surgical devices.
